It’s your destiny, Destiny.
My proudest mom moment so far was when R, the 3-year-old, properly quoted a movie to me. She leaned in close to my ear to quote the beluga whale, Bailey, from Finding Dory with the same whisper he uses. She then proceeded to jump like the whale, Destiny, does in the movie. Needless to say, we may have watched the movie
once a day a couple of times since it was released. R’s awesome grandparents, aunts, and uncles have bought her a few gifts that are Finding Dory themed. Which is why I was able put together a Finding Dory Gift Guide for Toddlers with mostly items from our house! These are tried and true my friends!
You won’t find me being the mom that gets obsessed with a movie or tv show to the point I buy everything under the sun related to that for my child. Not going to happen.
But I will say that Finding Dory will forever hold a special place in my heart and R’s. It may be because Finding Nemo is my 2nd favorite Disney movie but also because my parents took her to see it for her first trip to the movie theater this past summer. R loved retelling Hubby and I about it when she got home. And being grandparents, they didn’t just take her to see it but gifted her a baby Dory stuffed animal and bought the commemorative popcorn bucket.
And you know how stuff multiples with kids?
Once she shared with everyone how much she loved “baby” Dory we all started buying more themed items. Despite having a number of related items, I must say she really does play with them regularly. Which any parent will tell you helps you at least feel better about the abundance of stuff laying around.
So if you have a Finding Dory loving toddler in your life, like I do, check out the Finding Dory Gift Guide for Toddlers below!
Finding Dory Gift Guide for Toddlers
Finding Dory Blu-ray with Digital Download
Any true fan needs the movie! I always buy the combo Blu-rays to help save money. You usually get the Blu-ray disc, DVD disc, and a digital copy.
TIP: I trade DVD copies with the grandparents so we don’t double buy any Disney movies! And the digital copy stays on our iPad, which is mostly used in the bathroom as a tv so I can shower each day. You do what you gotta do, right?
Finding Dory Puzzle
R loves puzzles, like I mentioned here. This puzzle is great because it is actually two different puzzles with scenes from the movie. It has a pattern on the back of each so you can separate the pieces for each without losing your mind! Toddlers love puzzles so this is perfect!
Dory Stuffed Animals
As much as I have tried to limit the stuffed animals in my house, it’s a losing battle. R received baby Dory from my parents and big Dory from her aunt. She loves them so much that they are prominently displayed on the left side of her bed. Both must be arranged a certain way before I can leave the room each night.
Yeah, she loves them that much. No way we could lose one or forget it somewhere.
Dory Coloring Book and Stickers
This book is not your average coloring book. It is MASSIVE and comes with over 1,000 stickers. Perfect for the toddler who gets upset when they can’t unstick a sticker. There are another 999 stickers to choose from.
Bonus: The back cover of the book has a code that you can download a Disney Story Central storybook on the app. So, it’s really 2 books for the price of 1!
Finding Dory Pajamas
Finding Dory T-shirt
One display over from the pj’s we found this shirt. I must admit this is a boys shirt but every Disney shirt for girls was pink and had sparkles. YUCK. This option was more unisex and classic with the heathered fabric and it included all of the main characters!
Finding Dory action figure book set
This item doesn’t live at our house but at my in law’s house. R takes it out every time she goes over there. The set has a book, playmat, and the figurines to act out the book. She loves placing all of the characters on the mat!
Toddlers love dress up. So why not get a jump on Halloween and buy them a costume! Even though they will probably want to wear it everyday! Which a toddler can get away with! (Adults, however, would be given strange looks if they wore a costume everyday!)
Finding Dory Water Table
As you can see we have just a few Dory items in our house and may have a slightly obsessed toddler. But all of these items get a ton of use, no dust collecting toys here!
What’s your favorite Disney movie character?
Mine is Mike from Monster’s Inc.
